Using Tidy

Tidy is an open source utility (http://tidy.sourceforge.net/) for cleaning up HTML with a wide range of available options. You can use Tidy with First Page 2006 either by accessing the most commonly used Tidy functions via the drop-down menu or via the entire application directly. The following commonly used functions are available:

To use Tidy:

  1. To use one of the commonly used Tidy functions:

    1. Click on the Tidy > Tidy HTML Quick Tools menu option.

    2. Click on one of the menu items described at the beginning of this topic.

      NOTE: To generate all tags as uppercase characters, click on the Output tags in Uppercase menu option.

    To access all of Tidy's functionality:

    1. Click on the Tidy > Tidy HTML Format and Fix... menu option.

    2. Open as many of the horizontal bars as required and select the functionality you need. The Tidy HTML Power Tools window contains a description about each item.

    3. Click on the OK button.
